During the Covid pandemic many small businesses were crippled – the weekly newspaper in the Vale of Glamorgan was one of those casualties and ceased production. In a brave move, some of the former team decided to start an independent title in a fortnightly tabloid format. They called on our many years of first-hand newspaper experience to design a masthead and create page templates and style sheets. We were up for the challenge and are still doing the page make up for the Glamorgan Star after more than one hundred editions. Their website was next with an online version of the printed newspaper and a complete on line news service with links to their social media platforms. Needless to say they remain very happy with both.
”Having worked with Artytype before, I knew they had the skills to help me produce a modern and fresh newspaper layout and top of the range online presence. Both the paper and website have been widely praised and I can't recommend Artytype highly enough. You know you are always going to get a high quality product and no nonsense approach and they also take away the worries of the 'tecky bits' behind the scenes which leaves you time to focus on your business.

Social Media
During development, our team came up with some ideas to save time publishing new articles and ensuring their seamless transition to social media. We integrated Facebook, Twitter APIs and created a platform in which articles were automatically posted on social platforms saving hours of work. We also integrated Open Weather API to give readers up-to-date weather forecasts for their area directly from the site.
